Thousand Oaks is a beautiful, family-orientated community located just 12 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. It is located in Ventura County and is very close to the Santa Monica Mountains. It hosts an incredible 14800 acres of natural publicly owned space with over 75 miles of trails that are perfect for walking, running, hiking, and biking. The city was incorporated in 1964 and currently has a population of 128,000.

A couple of large businesses have located their headquarter here, such as Amgen, Sage Publications, Skyworks Solutions, and Teledyne Technologies. Some of the main employers in Thousand Oaks are California Lutheran University, City of Thousand Oaks, Conejo Valley Unified School District, Hyatt Hotels, and Los Robles Hospital and Medical Centre. Some of the region offices that are managed in Thousand Oaks are Anthem Blue Cross, Audi, Bank of America, Baxter International, BMW, General Dynamics Corporation, Silver Star Automotive Group, Verizon, and Verizon Wireless.

Previously, H.D. Power and Associates was headquartered in Agoura Hills, California. On the Weekend after April 11, 2002, it began moving its employees to its current location in the Westlake section of Thousand Oaks. The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce serves the communities of Agoura Hills, Thousand Oaks, and Westlake Village. They have received a four-star accreditation from the United States Chamber of Commerce, which is something that few others have achieved.
